Red Carpet Look For Under $200!

As many of you know a  few months ago I had the great pleasure of styling the award-winning activist, choreographer, and writer, Mark Travis Rivera, for the opening night of the 4th Annual Six Degrees of Separation: Balance vs. Chaos showcase at The Actors Fund Arts Center.  Many fell in love with the look and upon request it became the look for the Somos Loud national multi-platform campaign, debuting in New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami during National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th – October 15th)! For details on the look make sure to see my previous post,  Rules of Styling You Must Never Forget!

I was also asked to style the talented Mark Rivera for the Somos Inaugural Gala in Los Angles, California.
My goal is always to find an inexpensive look that makes my client feel comfortable, confident, and fashionable. So back to Forever 21; inexpensive, variety and fashion-forward.

It took less than an hour to find the look that slayed the red carpet at the Somos Inaugural Gala.   Mark Rivera walked down the red carpet with confidence, glamorous accessories, and a style all of his own.

When it comes to styling don't forget: style is personal, accessories are everything and most importantly you have to wear it all with confidence!

Thinking of the BIG & TALL ❤ ❤ ❤

I was having a conversation with this amazing teddy bear (heyyy boo!) and realized that though we are more accepting of the plus-size man, the big teddy bear and overall the “big & tall”, their options for fashion are almost non-existent! I thought we had a limited selection as plus size women of stores, designers, fashion bloggers, and so on, but it is enormous compared to the options men have.   As I did a little research, I came across a great article,  “Why are there no plus-size male models?” .   Which was something I had honestly never paid any mind to.   This article sheds light on the reality of the double standards we have in our society.    Mark Simpson was quoted saying, “Part of the reason why there are no plus-size male models is that there are no politics behind it. It’s not a controversial issue in the same way that it is for women. Men are objectified all the time in the media, but it’s not called ‘obje...

There is no right or wrong, so step out the box and go with what makes you feel good.  Two, accessories are everything! I mean what better way to give your outfit life then with a signature necklace, bag or why not just both?! Three and most important of all, don't forget to wear your  confidence!  I...
